The only concern I would see is that they activated Jameer Nelson. As much as an all-star he is, his presence may disrupt the chemistry already established by his subs, Rafer Alston especially, and Anthony Johnson. Jameer was good in the two wins in the regular season against the Lakers, high scorer in fact, but this is something to be a little concerned about, I think.

My prediction? Magic in 7. Magic pick up a split in first two games, take 2 out of 3 in the next three in Orlando, and take Game 7 in LA, just like they did in Boston. I'll be a great series.

Edit: So far so good, Jameer is actually looking good out there, proved me wrong.

Well, seeing how cold both Alston and Pietrus are right now in Game 1, I'm thinking Jameer's entrance into the game did affect their rhythm, even though Jameer is playing decent. Also, Pietrus can't seem to guard Kobe as good as he guarded LeBron. Kobe looks really determined. But it's only the first game, the Magic have been down in the playoffs before, I wouldn't count them out in this series, no way.

I stopped watching after the third quarter.... was it me or were the Magic not getting outplayed.... they were just MISSING all of their shots? Am I just trying to rationalize the loss?

My take... they were just sandbagging it this time.. so that they can trick the Lakers into thinking they can't make any more three's :P

They have a lot to learn after this defeat. Why did they play Nelson so much when it wasn't working? Johnson didn't even play at all after doing so well against the Cavs. I think they will regroup and come back strong for game 2.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The Lakers didn't play as good as Orlando played bad. No way will Orlando shoot 29% next time. Orlando had looks but the shots didn't fall.

It was also sort of a boring game too.

Yes, WE beat ourselves. You probably couldn't expect to beat the best Junior Magic team shooting 30%. Well hopefully the jitters are out now. They need to go to a 3 guard rotation with AJ back in the mix. He has played well in the playoffs and throughout Jameer's absence, he deserves to play and he needs to play to keep the Lakers off balance. Game 1 is behind us, let's go pick up 4 wins now. GO MAGIC!!! BELIEVE!!!

That game last night was really hard to watch, but I stuck through it. When we were down by 18 I was still okay, I kept thinking "We've come back from worse", but into the 4th things just got really bleak. NOTHING was going in. We looked like a semi-pro team last night. I know we're capable of doing better, we just need to get that killer instinct!

Let's go Magic! Blue & White Ignite!
