Can anyone recommend what hotels and nightspots along International Drive offer the best opportunities for meeting the lovely ladies - local or tourist - in Orlando? Ages 30 and up would be preferable. Thanks for preventing another lonely bored conventioneer from going crazy.

I-drive? I don't know if anyone can say that there is any consistency there since it is almost all tourists or out of towners...maybe someone else could comment. The local women are all in downtown Orlando on the weekends. Go there and you will not be disappointed. As for the tourism district, I'd go with CityWalk at Universal.

If you are looking for serious action (like Vegas or Miami) you are gonna be dissapointed, Your best bets will be Citwalk and Downtown O. That has been a knock on Orlando, that there is very little for convention goers other than theme parks.

Like others have mentioned, I would check out Citiwalk or downtown Orlando. There are some cool spots in Metrowest as well like the newly redone Rain Orlando and Tavern on the Lake. There are numerous places downtown, one for just about every crowd.

If you need to stay on I-Drive you will find a lot of hole in the wall bars, Icebar, Howl at the Moon, and the places in Pointe Orlando: Matrix and the other have closed, but there is Cuba Libre, BB Kings, etc. A lot of these places are filled with tourists and conventioners though.
