Isn't the economy bad enough without them doing this to us? My electric bill has already nearly doubled since last summer, so now will it be tripled? How are people supposed to survive?

Not even close, the rate increase will be about 67 cents for 1,000 kilowatt hours. Negligible unless you are a power hog.

FPL customers will pay $63 million in nuclear costs next year

I don't know what to tell you, Bueno, but my personal electric bill has just about doubled, and I am doing nothing differently than I was last Summer. That's why I suspected the rate hike.

Take a look at your actual KWh consumption from last summer and this summer then compare, don't use your payment.

I will give you, the rates for FPL did go up from last year, but nowhere enough to double a payment.

Wait until Cap and Trade passes and see what happens to the rates.

I don't know what some people are going to do, you need the A/C on here a good part of the year.

People can't afford their bills as things stand now, how can these crooks running these companies consider an increase, and worse yet how can our politians running this state allow this to happen to their citizens? And as far as I know Progress energy is looking for a 30% increase, so I don't think this will amount to a few dollars if passed. NO ONE cares that the state of Florida has an alarming rate of foreclosures and with bonehead moves like this more people will be losing their homes.
