Kind of like why does 68 degrees in an a/c house feel great in the summer but in the winter, that same 68 degrees to me is still not warm enough?

When we know the answer to that and where all the missing socks go, civilization will be on its way to recovery
I agree that cool weather feels cooler in Florida because of psychological factors. Psychological adjustment is a big part of acclimatization.

Live here long enough and you become a wuss, psychology is a big factor when it comes to cold weather

68 degrees feels amazing in Connecticut in May, 68 here in January is cold.

Florida's cold weather isn't so bad as long as its not very windy which is rare. It seems the colder it gets here, the windier it gets. The weather service issues "Wind Chill Advisories" or warnings, when temps fall into the lower 40s or into the 30s with high winds, wind chills have fallen into the 10s and 20s before. And Im pretty sure they have fallen into the single digits at least once or twice in the past when it fell into the 20s which is REALLY rare in Florida.

I remember in December 1998 it fell down to 16 degrees at our house in Union Park, or at least thats what the thermometer said on our back porch. And I had to go to school that morning. Funny we had just come off the hottest summer on record that same year when it got up to 105 in Orlando for the first time

But you cant bet quite a few tourists will be caught off guard this week with this chill we have. Still better then my homestate of Connecticut where they just got 20 inches of snow

Yea the wind chills are what does it. this morning it was in the mid 40s but the windchills were in the mid 30s so it was freezing for me. tonight it's supposed to be in the high 30s so the winchills will prolly be in the low 30s upper 20s. I remember it got into the 20s a few different times last winter with wind chills I'm guessing in the teens. I remember I couldn't even pump gas in my car those morning because my hands hurt so bad from being exposed to those temps.

This is off topic but what school in union park did you go to in 1998? I lived in union park in 1998 aswell and went to school there.

I actually went to Deerwood Elementary near Rio Pinar, which I suppose would be a better exclamation of where I lived. I lived near Lake Underhill Rd and Chickasaw Trail. I was 9 at the time. Our neighbrohood was directly across the street from the Rio Pinar Plaza where Publix was (before it was rebuilt and made 2x as big)

I said Union Park because I remember our zip code was 32825, which city-data classifies as Union Park. I wouldn't live in my old neighborhood now, its so ghetto there. If I do move back to East Orlando (something I'd love to do) it would be in a neighborhood close to Waterford Lakes Town Center. I love that neighborhood and that shopping center, way better then the loop by my house in Hunter's Creek now.

I wont be though as I am planning to move to Las Vegas in September or October 2010
