I've been banging my head on which part of Florida to move to, the company I work for has 5 offices in Florida and I will be transferring to one of them soon. I like what I saw on youtube under winter park, seems like a nice area. I didn't realize the area was an old logging town.

It reminds me of Cambridge or Lexington of Massachusetts.

Winter Park is a very nice area.. very Cambridge-esque, and it's a college town as well (although the college isn't quite as prestigious as Harvard, haha).

It is a very expensive area of town though, but I don't know if that's a concern for you. Other areas you might like to look at are College Park (which is nearby) and Windermere/Dr. Phillips (on the other side of town).

I'll have to check those towns out as well, my family of 4 and my parents are heading down there in April to check the area out. We'll most likely rent a house for all of us to stay.

I'm certainly not Cambridge like but can appreciate a nice area. Out of curiousity what would you consider expensive? thanks.

Well my opinion on what's expensive will be subjective and I'm not much of an expert on real estate, but much of Winter Park is comprised of multi-million dollar homes. I think you'd be hard pressed to find something under $400k close to the heart of Winter Park but I'm not entirely sure.

I saw those huge homes on youtube. We have a 2500square foot home right now and it's probably more than what we need (cleaning it is a second job). I'd like to stay under 400k if possible, the other dilemma is keeping a large boat in the yard so we might need some land also. I'm sure we'll get a better idea when we visit coming April.

thanks again
