It's funny you bring that up, but that is exactly one of the things I hate about Florida! You go inside anywhere, and have to put on a sweater or jacket, because it is cold in all public buildings, then you go outside and it is 90 degrees and you just about die! I would rather have it cool inside ( we had the temperature set to 55 degrees in Vermont, while it was -11 outside) , and about the same or colder outside. Do you ever spend any serious amount of time outside in Florida , in the summer, doing any sort of physical activity? I do, let me tell you , it is miserable. Then you go inside, and it's too cold. If I would have to pick the #1 thing I hate about Florida, the heat would be it. I don't mind the humidity, but the heat. I like rain. I would hate Arizona worse. Think about this too, if it is cold, you can put on clothes. If it is hot, there is not much you can do. Even if you go outside in a bathing suit, in 90 deg. weather, it is STILL hot

It is hotter in Orlando, and more humid than in western Viriginia most of the time. There are few months in the summer it can get hot in Virginia, but Orlando is hot ALL the time except a few months. We left Orlando a few days before Christmas last year to drive up north. It was 85 degrees when we left, we were sweating while loading our stuff. When we got to western Virginia, we got stuck in a snowstorm Not too many of those here in Orlando....
Anything over 80 degrees in hot to me btw. I would like it to be around 70. ( we are rethinking Virginia btw. I would really like to move to Vermont)
Even though it can get in the 80s sometimes, from October to may the humidity is relatively lower, so it doesn't feel as bad like in June through september. it feels like how it would In other states. it's nice right now, my favorite time of year for the weather. For me it's only uncomfortable in the summer months, and in the winter when it gets below 45, which happens a lot. but that's why I always go to the beach, water parks, springs, etc during the summer.

In my experience when you meet people directly from their native countries they are much more humble and very enthusiastic about assimilating. It's the people who were born here who sometimes develop the attitude of this is America I can do what I want and you have to deal with it. This runs across the board for all races and ethnic communities in my experience.

I've seen both, a lot.

But in FL, the folks from the good ol' Northeast have seemed to always have that sense of entitlement. People down here all know how much better everything is in NY, we've been hearing it for years.

I hate when people talk about how much better everything is in New York, seriously if Orlando sucks THAT bad, then what are people doing here?

But if they all went back to NY, CT, or any other northern state, they'd probably complain about how Florida doesnt get "this cold" (below 20 degrees)

Am I the only nice northeasterner you met on here Com?

Orlando is filled with nice northeasterners. Com just highlights the annoying ones. Which isn't a bad thing. He's just warning people I guess

No, there are many. But I definitely hear - as have probably most of you - how things are done better in NY.
