Hi! We might be transferring from NoVa. DH will be working primarily at Orlando Airport and I might be able to get a transfer (both of us for the fed. govt) for a job in Tampa. Where is the best place for us to live? Best/Good HS? Safe community? Planned community? Apartment/rentals? Is this doable or am I getting myself into one BIG MESS? Thanks.

I'm guessing you're already aware that there's a massive commute between Orlando International and Tampa.. I-4, the main corridor between Tampa in Orlando is a mess a lot of the time especially with never-ending construction near Tampa. It's about 2 hours normally one way.. but if there's traffic it could be much longer.

Would you want to live closer to Orlando? Or Tampa? Or somewhere in-between?

Somewhere in between? Lakeland maybe? Any suggestions? Good high school? Safe community? I don't know anyone in that area so any input is much appreciated! Maybe a commute of 45 mins b/w the both of us is ok? I commute an hr to work each way now but it's a straight drive. Thanks.

I don't know much about Lakeland, sorry I've heard Polk County schools aren't so great, but there may be exceptions. I'm sure someone on this board can help
