This happened years ago but I thought I'd share it with you. My aunt was murdered by her husband. My mom was so upset about it and crying all the time. In a moment of desperation she said :"God please give me a sign that my sister is with youin heaven." Thirty seconds later the doorbell rang. My mom got the door and standing there were 2 young girls no older than 10 and they were holding a bouquet of flowers for my mom. These children lived in the area and didn't even personally know my mom. Their mom said that they were just playing together when all of a sudden they decided to start picking flowers. My mom loves flowers. She said after this happened she was more at peace and she has kept those flowers preserved to this day.
Coincidence or a sign????
I have had lots of experiences like that. One day after my mom passed, (several years ago) I lost my glasses in my house. This tends to be an ongoing event lately. I looked everywhere and had just about given up. I said "Ok Mom, will you give me some help here?" I went up stairs and there in a guest room on a flowered bedspread--(hard to see without my glasses), there they were. They are with us and whatever higher power you believe in is there also.
I'm sorry you and your mother, and all your family experienced the loss of your aunt, and I know God has his own ways to give us answers, and yes I believe it was a sign.
God also gave me plenty of signs, I'll send you a direct message about it.
I think God can and does give us "signs." That said, however, I have learned that there IS such a thing as coincidence and we do well to discern the difference or we risk being deceived in my opinion. (If the sign, for example, seems to direct us to DO something or believe something which is contrary to the Bible, it's not from God.) My condolences about your aunt. That's horrible and tragic.
I think God gives us lots of signs....but we often miss them.
