I have a copy of The Washington Daily News that is dated, Monday, July 21, 1969, and on the front page in bold print is, Moon Message: One Small Step for Man; One Leap for Mankind.-- Neil Armstrong, Stepping On The Moon 10:56 PM, July 20, 1969 A.D.

Now at the top of the page above the Moon Message is also the message; Ted Kennedy Charged in Massachusetts Court..... a couple of historical events....

Don't recall exactly where I was as this monumental feat of human endeavor took place!

I had just turned fourteen and some neighborhood kids and I watched it on TV then went outside and marveled at the moon.

I was 13 and remember sitting on the floor in front of the TV with my Dad. We both were in awe. Hard to believe 41 years have passed since that day.

I remember that day, we watched it on TV. I was 12 at the time and I followed the subsequent moon landings in the Apollo program, until the last mission in December of 1972.

For those who were not born yet, you notice a gap between Apollo 12 and Apollo 14, there was an Apollo 13 mission, which was aborted because of an explosion in one of the oxygen tanks, and forced the crew to return to earth, in a situation that seemed hopless, but they rigged up a lot of ways and items, they circled the moon, and used its orbital sling shot effect to propel them back towards earth.

Thank God the 3 astronauts returned home safely.
