Time does fly right on by when you are having fun...also when you are taking a test, have to be somewhere, and other challenging situations. I also believe that time flies or slows down depending upon your short term memory.

To most children, you will remember, time not only went by slowly, at times it actually appeared to stand still. Not much to compare the events to. As we age our memory bank is full of experiences. I am using my DH's current medical condition as an example. He has Alzheimer's. His short term memory is diminishing rapidly and there are many days where he will tell me, 'my, this was a long day'.

I contribute this statement to that loss of memory. Probably not as much in which to compare his activities. Take yesterday as an example; we both showered, dressed, had breakfast, drove to a little town close by (10 miles), where a shop opens on Mondays for business where he had a haircut, we then drove to another little town to visit the post office, a hardware store, service station, bank, saw a nephew from California and had a short visit, then to a W-Mart for groceries, etc. and then home.

Lunch, a short walk, conversation, word games, tv, dinner, cleared table, more conversation. Mostly regarding his illness, question and answer time, flash card game, playing with the pup, closing p shop downstairs for the night, upstairs, getting ready for bed.

All of this prompted him to remark about the day being a good day and going by kinda quick. To me? It seemed like a loooong day.
