A lot of great times and music in the 80's, but there are 2 events that will stick with me a lifetime: First was the birth of my son on 1/1/86, which was a miracle in and of itself. The second was the morning I was sitting on the couch feeding him when he was just a few weeks old. I was watching the Challenger launch on TV while I was feeding him and . . . the mixture of pure joy combined with absolute horror is a memory I'll never forget.
I think Boy George was the former vocalist for a punk group called the Sex Pistols...but dont quote me for positive on that one, as I havent researched it.
KROQ was my favourite station back then, they got me started on the B-52's.
KMET was bought out by some elevator music station, one day I turned on the radio and it was no more classic rock...just like that...what the....????

Sex Pistols were Sid Vicious, Johnny Rotten, Paul Cook, Steve Jones, and Glen Matlock, and were managed by the late, great Malcolm McLaren.
I was a devout KROQ listener, and my brothers were KMET/KLOS listeners. I still remember the day the Mighty Met went off the air - everyone was bummed. My brothers and their friends were all wandering around like zombies! LOL
The B-52's .... the ultimate party band!!!
