When I was stationed in Korea; the International Herald-Tribune, an English-language newspaper would occasionally make a gaffe;

When First Lady Rosalyn Carter visited Korea, the headline read: "First Lay..."

In proper British English, apartments are callet "flats". When a woman fell from a highrise apartment building in Seoul, the headline read: "Flat Woman Falls To Her Death"

The smallest governmental unit in Korean cities (comparable to a Ward) is called a "dong" in Korean. An article about reducing the number of these governmental units was entitled "Too many dongs in Seoul"...
