It still amazes at how many people do NOT wash their hands!

I made it public, but don't be afraid to admit if you don't .

Well I am happy to stand up here and say that I do most certainly wash my hands and I am a Purell hand sanitizer freak.

Gross, my son will come out of the bathroom yelling, that the guy who just came out didn't wash his hands. That is just gross.

Absolutely! But.......one of the people I am currently living with does not. In fact, does not wash hands prior to handling food. I have pretty much taken over the cooking.......

I checked the wrong box (I saw the 'of course' and I didn't read the rest) but what i meant to say was YES! I do.

But I probably don't wash properly all the time. Infact, I know I don't always wash my hands properly each and every time. Its funny because they say that proper handwishing takes at least 2 minutes, with SOAP, and warm water.

Most people (in public anyway) do the hand swish, a bit of soap and rinse under unusually cold water. Water's cold in public places for safety reasons but it doesn't kill germs. Hmmm...kind of like not washing your hands at all, now isn't it?

Yes, I always make sure to wash my hands after using the restroom. At work, I've seen a couple of guys who just walked out of the restroom after using it, without washing their hands! In that case, after washing my own hands, I take the paper towel I was using and use it to touch the door handle on my way out. Not washing hands after using the restroom is just---yuck. <shudders>

Actually it's not 2 minutes- it's 20 seconds- or as long as it takes to sing "Happy Birthday" or the ABC song, if that makes it easier.

Hand sanitizer is "better than nothing", but not even close to actually washing your hands with wam water and soap. I HATE doing my food safety lessons (which also include lessons on germs and handwashing) in classrooms because they all do the hand sanitizer and look at me crazy when I say that they should wash their hands.. always!

Even if you think you wash your hands well- this diagram is pretty thought-provoking. If you think of how you "wring" your hands during washing, I think most people DO miss their fingertips..:
