We must keep a smile on our face despite all these peeves that we have!
As it's the weekend and many of us are not working today, I'll try and think of a related peeve.
How about this?
You've settled down to your favourite TV programme (Oh, this English spelling! ) or it might be a book you're in to, and the phone or the doorbell rings.
Good one, Jezer! I never ever ever answer my door and I keep the phone ringer turned off always. I don't like to talk on the phone and I don't let anyone inside my home. But I don't watch TV or read books, either! .... It's great to have you for our host!
Good peeve, Jezer, and makes me glad I don't have a doorbell Even if I did though, no one comes to my door except for the times my neighbor Maritza does (and it's always during the day). If my phone rings I check caller ID - unless it's someone I know, off to voice mail it goes. Just peeves me to no end when someone calls later in the evening or on a Sunday to talk shop
I never answer the door cuz in my area it would be a door to door salesperson and the phone would be handled by the answering machine. If I recognize the voice and it's an emergency then I'll answer it.
By the way Jezer, ol' chap, I enjoy the English...

Yes this is annoying. First I check caller ID, it I dont' reconize the number, don't answer it. If I do, then I pick up the phone to see if it's importanat. If not, I call them back.
oh and we ripped out door bell out last night. It wouldn't stop ringing so we ripped it out of the wall.
