I've needed to get and and mow for the past 3 days and it is just too darned hot out. So now the grass is longer than normal and I am dreading it. I have to do it tonight

I feel your pain!!! We have a hugh lawn and are having to mow twice a week and sweep it also. It's so hot and humid here that our grass never totally dries out so our lawn hasn't looked as nice this year.
Stay cool Lisa.........keep a container of ice water on the mower with you, that's what I do.
I suppose I could but I don't have a vacuum. I do need to mop though and all I do is shake and bake instead of fry.
