Hi.... just thought this might be another fun topic. What are your phobias and strange quirks?

Ok my phobias: Clowns, porcelain dolls, any realistic dolls or figures that mechanically move. For instance, my mom has an angel that is Barbie sized, that she puts out at Christmas. It has a tiny light in each hand, and moves back and forth. Since I was a kid, I always hated it, and to this day, my mom still has to disable the mechanical thing in it, so it just stands still. I hate that thing! I have a family of my own now, and they totally make fun of me for it!

Strange quirks.... Whenever I eat candy (which is once in a while)I always eat bitesized candy in even numbers. I have to have two tic tacs, or two tootsie rolls, or two pieces of licorace. I don't do this with all foods... just certain bitesized candies. I have no idea why I do it, and I have done this since I was a kid. I don't have any other minor compulsive things like this.... its seriously weird. I mean... why candy? I am happy to report that I don't have the urge to eat two full size candy bars when I have the occasional Snickers! If I did have this quirk with other foods, I would be as big as a house!

My biggest phobia is the dark. I sleep with the TV on, much to the annoyance of my husband. Cartoons, of all things. The older I get the worse this phobia becomes.

Quirks? A whole bunch! Have to pick my feet up when driving over train tracks. Don't know why. Something that I picked up as a kid.

Phobias: acrophobia, claustrophobia
Strange quirk: If somebody is walking with me, I have to be on the right-hand side.

Default Buried Alive

About the only thing that gives me the jitters is imagining being buried alive in a coffin (like you see in horror movies).

I fear clowns since childhood.

I think the candy thing is a feeling of "balance."
I understand that. I prefer even numbers over odd numbers.

I have that fear, I am also claustrophobic.

I used to do something like Calibelle but it was in 3's but I didn't like odd numbers (the actual #) only even. I don't think that I have any weird quirks anymore.

I'm with Calibelle on the clowns and dolls but nothing is scarier than a Nutcracker. Even the name is scary! I mean really just look at them.

Oh-another freaky "quirk" (I have MANY!!! I could write a book!!! ) -
When I eat chips (any kind - potato, tortilla, ANY) I eat all the broken pieces! When I start to get to only full ones or big ones, I dig at the bottom of the bag to get the crumbles!!! ??? I have no idea why... ?!

I have tons of weird quirks too. Ummm....I cannot stand the sound of a knife scraping on toast, like spreading butter. I can make the hairs on my arms stand up just thinking about it. I also like even numbers, odd numbers feel unbalanced. I love anchovies; is that a quirk? I don't like to sit with my back to the door at restaurants.
I don't have any phobias, although I don't like being alone when it's completely dark. I'm not phobic about it though. I can even pick up bugs and snakes and small rodents. Not much scares me.
