Good morning peevers.

Guess what- it's four months til Christmas Day!

This gives me an idea for POTD.

Do you get fed up when you see shops selling things months before the actual event? You know the kind of thing- Christmas displays in October, or worse. Actually, Harrods in London sells Christmas gifts in August for foreign visitors!

So, our POTD;

Shops selling things far too soon?

Since I'm a lazy giftgiver, only cash, I don't care how early they start.

But start that pumped in Christmas music any earlier.....................

I agree. I hate to see the greed for the almighty dollar or Euro or whatever it is. It's time for the world to slow down and let people smell the roses day by day. Enough is enough.

Have you noticed that in some stores, right alongside the Christmas displays, you'll find Valentine Day themed merchandise? That's ridiculous.

Good peeve, Jezer.

Good peeve, Jezer. I think a month prior to a holiday is enough time to display stuff. We've had Halloween stuff in our stores since the beginning of August. I was in KMart a few days ago and saw them setting up the Christmas display, right next to the BBQ grills and other summer stuff. Pretty ridiculous.

Nothing here yet. I guess that's because school doesn't start until the end week of September. I hate seeing stuff out too soon, and the muzak..don't even want to go there. I can't imagine explaining to a two year old in August where Santa is.

Good Peeve, Jezer

We had our first free offer of Christmas cards in the freebie forum this morning and I DID think it was rather soon. Then again, I guess some people like to plan ahead and shop early. I usually wait until last minute.

Oh, for the good old days when Christmas displays didn't go up until after Thanksgiving.
