Hello, kids! Today's Tip was suggested by Chatteress (thanks,
Chat!), so scroll on down and check it out.

Five Rules For Cutting Fast Food Calories
  1. Select grilled rather than fried. A fast-food grilled chicken sandwich has about 470 calories and 18 grams of fat, while the fried version has about 750 calories and 45 grams of fat.
  2. Pass up the cheese, mayo and salad dressings unless low-fat options are available.
  3. Order the smallest size available. Go for the single burger rather than double and order the small fries rather than super size.
  4. Skip sugar-sweetened drinks. They're just empty calories.
  5. Save half of your order for your next meal. Bring a container with you and scoop half your food into it before you even take the first bite. It not only saves calories, but also time and money.

What a great tip. If I have the willpower, I do try to save half or order smaller portions. I find it very frustrating that many restaurants offer a small order of almost anything at almost the same price as supersized. Thanks Chatteress and Pam!!

I haven't had fast food in years (well, maybe a frosty), but will keep these tips in mind if I do stray into one.

Thanks Chatt and Pam

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Good tips, Pam and Chatteress. I don't have FF often, but when I do I go hog wild. Greasy fries, hamburger loaded with mayo and cheese YUM!

I hadn't had fast food for 5 weeks, and last weekend was at a convention and didn't have a choice... 2,100 of us had 45 minutes for lunch... I had something from the golden arches and it was NASTY. I couldn't believe how in just 5 weeks I lost any taste for that kind of garbage...

I like the idea of taking a container and bringing one half home.

All the meals are over sized anymore and it's hard to find one that is smaller portions.

Thanks for the tip Pam and Chatt! When I eat fast food it's a rare treat for me so I usually pig out!...lol. However, if I ate that stuff on a regular basis I would certainly follow this tip.
