Morning y’all
. . . . . Didja Know?
A Japanese company was promoting a new PC for internet users and hired Panasonic to produce an online guide
for this purpose. A huge marketing campaign was built around the cartoon character Woody Woodpecker after
license to use it was granted; however, the launch had to be cancelled at the last minute.

The reason? The ads featured the slogan, “Touch Woody – The Internet Pecker”. An American at the internal
product launch had explained to the stunned and embarrassed Japanese what “touch woody” and “pecker”
meant in American slang

I guess it wasn't a "hard" decision to drop the ad?

I guess Birds are becoming popular in advertising, a TV ad that's using a famous bird is the Geico commercial, a lot of you probably saw it... I think it's funny because Roadrunner and Wylie Coyote was my favorite cartoon, and probably still is.. beep beep...

Yep, I've seen this one this week and it is funny. I'm also a Roadrunner and Wylie Coyote fan.

That's a cutie! Reminds me of the commercial where dad has bought the kids an opossum instead of a dog.
