SAN JOSE -- Amid inspirational talk, chanted mantras and shouts of victory at a late-night firewalking event attended by thousands Thursday came agonized shrieks from followers whose soles were scorched by the superheated coals, witnesses said.
At least 21 people were treated for burn injuries after taking part in the crowning event of the first day of a Tony Robbins function downtown, including at least three who went to the hospital, a San Jose fire captain said.
LOL, I did the Tony firewalk back in the 1990's at a Corporate event that Tony's group was putting on for my Company. I made it with a few minor over heated soles. You have to walk quickly and purposefully. It's funny because years later I still have the same walk on the construction job site. The "oh **** here comes Bulldogdad walk" Everyonce in a while someone who has been through the seminar will pickup on the walk and give me a fist pump.

Actually I'm a little surprised. Robbins has been doing this kind of thing for decades now. You would think he and his staff would have it pretty much down pat, and would keep an eye out for those who didn't seem to get the instructions.
