Good morning peevers.

I trust that everyone is in good spirits.

I've just been looking up someone who did some work for me many years ago, and thanks to the internet I've been able to obtain his telephone number.

However, have you ever tried unsuccessfully to track someone down after a long absence? Maybe it was a relation, a friend or a business contact.

Well let us know because the POTD is;

Having trouble trying to track someone down.

Well doing genealogy that's always a challenge. When the wife goes shopping for a period of time trying to track her down is also a challenge, especially when she leaves her cell phone off or at home.
Old business asscocates, don't care to track them down. School mates most are dead, the others don't care about either. Military comrades I would like to track down, have tried but have not been successful.

We all went our separate ways. I've tried tracking a few people down in the past but I've just came to the conclusion that we went our separate ways for a reason. I've reconnected with a few people on Facebook but a few of them were living a not so pleasant life-style (drugs and what-not) so I didn't give any energy in trying to get back in touch with them.

Since I moved, there are new people to meet and make friends with .

More and more, yes. Since my core group of friends is graduating college, we are slowly going our separate ways. It gets more and more difficult to find them again every year.

I lost a lot of contact info when my old computer died on me. Some a quick google search and I could find, but so many like taxi drivers and people like that no way. Very annoying.

As a paralegal, I spent many years doing investigative work and am pretty good at tracking people down. (It was helpful that the law firm I worked at subscribed to some online services which gave me access to stuff the general public normally doesn't see.) Once in a while, though, I'm stumped when trying to locate someone for my current boss. It's frustrating!

I guess these days lots of people use Facebook to track down people from their past, but I'm not on Facebook and have no desire to be on it.

Good peeve, Jezer.

Facebook is a good source but only if that person is on Facebook. I use it to spy on the shorties. I won't give them my cell phone number.

Let's face it, some of us are not on Facebook, so I guess we're faceless...
