Morning y’all
. . . . . Didja Know?
Students at a school in Cambridge can avoid getting into trouble for minor offenses if they can come up
with a clever excuse (creative lie) within 10 seconds. Complete B.S. isn’t permissible, but "white lies" may
be acceptable.

"It's a great lesson in life to talk your way out of a tight corner in a very short period of time," said the
headmaster of the school.

You know what, although I don't like the ethics of this it would probably be the most useful skill the kids learn all year. Sad but true.

"I ran outta gas. I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux
didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from outta town. Someone
stole my car. There was an earthquake, a terrible flood, locust's. It wasn't my fault!!
I swear to God!!"

Nope, I didn't know this, Joy. Pretty neat idea on the part of the headmaster.

I was hoping the article would give some examples. That would've been way funny!

It deeply disturbs me, the whole lying thing. Yeah, politicians, some lawyers, heck... just about everybody does it these days. Right?
Lying to get yourself out of trouble.... endorsed by the headmaster at school.... and they are teaching what exactly? How to be untrustworthy? Great job application info right there. I wonder if they include that in the Com files that potential bosses might peruse in future... Just what I'd want my kids to learn... even less moral values. Great.
When I was growing up telling lies was a serious offence and earned you a bar of soap in the mouth and a corner to stand in while you tried not to swallow the soapy slobber. Now they are basically teaching kids to lie on purpose. I'd yank my kids out of there so fast they'd have to hire a cleaning crew to sweep up the dust!
And folks like to ask why the world is the way it is today? Why are kids the way they are today? Makes me wonder what else they are "teaching" them that they don't tell you about.
Bummer for the kids. What a loss.
Let me ask y'all one question here.... Who would you be willing to trust to take care of your loved one? Someone who is known to lie for whatever "acceptable" reason they percieve it to be, or someone who is a stand up kind of person and will tell the truth no matter what it cost them?
