Good morning peevers.

I'm in the middle of putting together a quiz for a local group that I will be running at the weekend.

Mrs J decided to get one of the Sunday papers yesterday to see if there was anything there that might help me think up a few more questions.

I don't normally buy a newspaper these days and of course the Sunday editions are HUGE. I can still remember the New York Times Sunday edition- who needs to go weight lifting!

Given the size there was little of interest for me though I have only glanced through many sections.

Do we need these papers to be so big?

How about for today's peeve we focus on this and have the POTD as;

Wow! That is one seriously big newspaper!

Newspapers are a dying business. Not only are they much less thick they're making them narrower here. They pull out every gimmick in a failed attempt to boost sales. Sad! Nice pics!

Good day Jezer ,what beautiful photos Thank you for sharing.
Newspapers....we used to get them 3x/week,reduced to 2x/week and now 1x/week. As you said more and more people read on the Internet their news,check on Flyer deals,so they have a lesser chance to have us as customers. What is really annoying as you also said how big the Newspaper is filled with utter nonsense and flyers.That is our Local Newspaper I am talking about. The Regular one I don't even bother ordering anymore,most of the time it is repeat news they print and old news

I read my news online, but do remember the days when I was married and we always had delivery. The Sunday paper weighed 15lbs with 14lbs of it being the advertising inserts

I remember the Sunday paper when I was a paper boy back in the early 1970s, I don't think it was 15 pounds, but it was heavy, with most of it being advertising material.

Not many people read the newspaper anymore, but I agree, that's a lot of waste, I'm glad they have recycling now.
