Hello all,

I'll pass on the quiz but I will answer the questions.
I do not know anyone that celebrates Chanukah.

Do you have a primary doctor? - Yes

Is your doctor male or female? Which do you prefer? - My doctor is female. Had a strong disagreement with a male doctor in the same medical group that I saw for close to 10 years so I switched. I've been seeing her for one year now and (but saw her twice 3-4 years ago) it has worked out great. I'm much happier with her. My preference doesn't matter.

How long do you usually have to wait to see him/her? - Never more than a 10 minute wait. The longest was 20 minutes which was the last time. I will never complain as she always takes her time and I never get the impression that she is rushing me out.

Does the office have masks for contagious people? - No, I have never seen this. I have been going to the same practice for over 20 years.

Do you know your family history? - I was never close to my family so no.

Did you get a flu shot? - Yes. Ever since I started getting one which is 8 years running now I have not had the flu. I used to get it about once every other year.

Ooops, missed these:
It’s that time of year that we are reminded to be thankful...so:

What are you most thankful for today? -
Nothing.

What are you most thankful for this year? - Nothing. It's been a disaster.

Thanks, Lisa.
Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

It's time for some quizzes so get your pens out

How did you do if you took the quiz?

I did not know any of the turkey questions but knew or guessed most of the non-turkey ones.

Extra Credit Question:
I have a doctor's appointment for a check up this week. It's a new doctor so they asked me to come in and fill out the paperwork before I got there for my appointment. My paperwork was 14 pages long

Guess why. In the "stimulus" bill (the Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009) were the electronic medical records rules. It was originally pitched for transportability when you change doctors and that's all I'll say.

MMS: Error

Do you have a primary doctor?

Yes.

Is your doctor male or female? Which do you prefer?

Male, no preference.

How long do you usually have to wait to see him/her?

Well, they have that trick. To make you feel like you aren't waiting that long, you wait in the waiting room and then you wait some more in the examining room.

Does the office have masks for contagious people?

I don't think so.

Do you know your family history?

Yes

Did you get a flu shot?

Not yet.

Bonus Question:

It’s that time of year that we are reminded to be thankful...so:

What are you most thankful for today?

That I woke up.

What are you most thankful for this year?

That I keep waking up.

Just For Fun:
1. Cranberries were first commercially harvested in 1816, but where?
A. Savannah, Georgia in the rural fields
B. Dennis, Massachusetts on Cape Cod
C. Wilmington, Delaware near the Delaware River
D. Newark, New Jersey near the Hudson River

No idea. I'll go with Massachusetts. Long Island had cranberry bogs and I know Michigan's upper peninsula has them so cold places seem to be okay.

2. Canadian and American sailors used cranberries on long voyages to prevent scurvy. True or False?

Are you sure it wasn't for kidney stones and urinary tract infections? I'll go with True.

3. Nearly sixty percent of the nation’s cranberries come from which state?
A. Massachusetts
B. Maine
C. California
D. Wisconsin

Well, there's that Michigan thing...I'll go with its neighbor, Wisconsin.

4. Recent dental research has shown that cranberry juice contains a chemical that can block pathogens that cause tooth decay. True or False?

No idea but my dentists never told me to drink cranberry juice so I'll go with False.

5. Where does the rich red color of cranberries come from?
A. The berries specific red color is unexplained
B. It contains the mineral Selenium which causes it to change red when exposed to weeks of sunlight
C. Juice contents of the berry cause the outside to turn red when exposed to oxygen
D. Numerous chemicals of the phenolic family (such as Flavonoids) cause it to turn red

No idea why any berries are the color they are. I'll go with A.

6. Of all fruits, cranberries contain among the highest *amount of antioxidants, which may help protect against cancer and other diseases.
True or False?

Urinary tract infections and kidney stones is all I know. But "may help" is too iffy for me. Was this quiz put out by The Cranberry Growers Association or something like that?

7. Over 50% of cranberries are sold fresh and the rest are turned into cranberry juice for sale.
True or False?

False. I think more goes to juice.

8. Which state today is the largest Cranberry producer?
A. Wisconsin
B. Massachusetts
C. Washington
D. Oregon

Repeat of question 3? I'll stick with Wisconsin.

9. Preliminary results suggest that even the cranberry may be beneficial in preventing thyroid disorders. True or False?

Jeez Louise, do you take a cranberry when you have a headache, too? I still think you are too up north. I'll guess False.

10. Cranberries are almost 90% water. True or False?

True

Now, I'll check how wrong I am.
