An elderly man was arrested after attacking another elderly man with a shopping cart at a Walmart saying he had exceeded 20 items when buying his items in the express lane, authorities said.

William E. Golladay, 77, faces charges of felony battery for the Saturday incident where he struck 65-year-old John L. Malherbe at a Charlotte County Walmart, authorities said.

When I left school and entered the wider world I thought that my time having to deal with childish arguments was over.

Later I found that they'd only just begun.

I think so! Supermarket etiquette should be the norm. If it says 20 items or less, that means less than 20 items!! Not 25, or 23........ 20!!

Seriously, I have stood in line in American supermarkets..... it takes forever! What with folks with their coupons and such. May be this guy had just had enough that day, and the overloaded trolley in front of him was the last straw!!

Signed, Victor Meldrew, England.

{{{{ WHAT }}}} is with it in Florida? Guns, Killings, and fighting inside businesses. One guy got shot and killed just standing in his backyard from a stray bullet fired from a neighbor someplace nearby. CRAZY place. And I thought AZ was bad!

It's things like this that cause me to be a bit nervous. We never know what will set someone off.

We don't get any trolley wars here in England - we're much too polite. I did get angry at a woman many years ago. She faffed about with her shopping...... you know, letting it all go through the till, and only then starting to pack it. Last of all, messing about with her purse trying to get rid of a load of change. While I stood there, watching her in growing irritation, the bus I was trying to catch, went by, on the road outside the supermarket.

Angrily, I explained to her, in great detail, everything I had witnessed her doing, causing me to miss my bus. Finishing with, "there isn't another one for half an hour." She listened patiently, with just one raised eyebrow. After I had finished, she said, "you're very rude young man" then turned on her heel, and walked out. That's as bad as it gets here....

I'm guilty of exceeding the 20 items or less limit, actually it happened yesterday but honestly I only had about 30 items and the other lines were so stinking long. There's never enough lanes open and the wait time is just ridiculous. BUT, there was a lady behind me who only had 3 items so I let her go in front of me....I'm not a total jerk.
