Where do you currently live, and how many months per year do you wear at least a sweater outdoors.
  1. Never
  2. < 1 month
  3. 1-4 months
  4. 4-7 months
  5. 7-10 months
  6. >10 months
  7. Always
For my location, its about 8 months per year, so I go with option 5. I live in central NJ, and put on a sweater whenever it drops below 53 F or so. Nights drop below 53 F for 8 months every year and days are below that limit 4.5 months every year. Right now, its snowing lightly, but about to intensify into a heavy snowstorm. 8" of white stuff predicted followed by a likelihood of subzero lows .

In San Francisco where I live, it's cool at night even in the summer, so there are very few days when I don't need to wear some type of sweater or jacket. During the day I can sometimes get by without one, but only when we're having warmer than usual temperatures.

In the AZ desert have never worn a sweater. Once in awhile in the dead of winter on a chilly morning will wear a light jacket.

Don't think I've owned a sweater since the 70's or 80's. Could wear a light or heavy coat at anytime maybe 4-5 months of the year...max.

I just wish that late spring didn't have cool spells. Usually there are days with highs in the 50s-low 60s with overcast skies even in late may . 50-low 60s F would be desirable for a low in late may but its too cool as a high.
