How much time do you spend away from home every day, and does it vary a lot. For me, it varies wildly. Today, I am spending 11 hours away from home, but on other days I only spend 5 hours. My university is an 18 mile ride from home, so I am not too far away. However, on going to Georgia Tech in the near future, I will have to spend several months away from home. It will surely be a big change.

At least 13 hours a day when I'm on shift. I work all 12 hour shift from 4 to 3 days at a time before having a few days off. My shifts also rotate between night and day so the nights are pretty hard. I go back on Friday night from 7pm to 7am for the next 4 nights before have 3 days off.

On an average four hours a day, unless I'm away on a trip.

Depends. I've been spending at least 4 hours away most weekdays these past couple of weeks, but sometimes I hardly ever leave the house.

I'm out more in the summer than the winter for sure.

It depends on the day...I had been working a lot of 16 hr shifts, so I was home to sleep and feed my cats, but since I have cut down on working I am home a little more...

It varies little for me. Most days I'm not away from home more than an hour or two.

It varies but I spent the entire day at home the day before yesterday and I will spend the entire day at home today with our little family unit. My workaholic addiction kicks in again tomorrow. Sometimes I work double shifts, sometimes 14 hour shifts and sometimes 8 hour shifts. Sometimes I get in bed at 630am up at 1230pm and leave for work again at 230pm. It's not a good balance for me right now.

Not long these days, but in the past it could be most of the week, week in week out.

I'd be covering all of the UK as well as frequent trips to the Netherlands.

We are on the road, most days - the life of the Self-Employed
The rewards are great, not only monetarily, but the opportunity to meet such wonderful people. Today, I'm back in the office early. Lately, I'm out on the road between 6:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. or so. When the time changes, I'm usually out working until after 8 p.m. But that's not the end of it. I'm working on the computer for many hours, after my road work is done.
Call me crazy, at my age! But, so far, it agrees with me, and I love it!
I always say, it's better to wear out than rust out!
