When in the woods pack both, ligheter for the quick little things, farmers matches in a waterproof container for a sure fire.

Leave a lighter in the glove box for those unexpected situations.

No I don't smoke.

What are farmers matches?
Lighter for --- yes I smoke wish I didn't.
Matches for candles and wood stove. Kitchen matches the long ones you can
strike on anything.( are these called farmers matches also?)

Definitely lighters, for both types of smoking. I only use matches if I can't find a lighter, or when the dog farts... we went through 3 packs one night, after my roommate gave him some bacon - LOL.
