I won a trip to Catalina once. It was a fun trip, but not as exciting as you might think since I happened to live in Los Angeles at the time and went to Catalina all the time.
Several. Photo awards as an adult and won a shotgun in the 8th grade. Yes they gave it to me at school. Forestry camp award. Never could get stars on my papers in early grade school. Teachers didn't like my hand writing. It's only gotten worse. Why didn't they tell me to study medicine? I'm sure with my handwriting I could have been a doc.
I won $100 on a scratch-off game at my favorite supermarket once, several years ago. It was so cool! I had made a special trip to fill a grocery cart with stuff to donate to our local food pantry. At the checkout, the cashier scratched my ticket and announced that I'd won $100. A manager walked up and asked, "How would you like that? Are twenties okay?" What fun!
