Don't know why some people like the beach (summer vacation in Florida) and others prefer skiing (winter vacation in Vermont). Where do the people who live in those places go on vacation? My "vacations" are determined by bird migration. I doubt if anyone who lives near a wildlife refuge spends every day of their vacation in another one.

Coat over light jacket if really cold. Do you wear sweaters indoors in winter? Rarely. More likely layered as described above.
