IOWA CITY, Iowa—Iowa City police said a man who was driving drunk tried to bribe a police officer -- with a sandwich. Police said a 25-year-old man was charged with drunken driving early Sunday morning after an officer saw him driving with his headlights off and pulled him over.

In other parts of the country it would have ended up in a protracted high-speed chase with the guy finally running over/into something and being shot because the cop thought the sandwich was a gun.

Any way you slice it, this wry and crusty poor boy got a rise out of me when he got his buns in trouble with this half baked idea but I don't plan to send him any flours. He's toast and full of baloney. Lettuce see, should he have cheesed it instead of hamming it up? He really should have carbed his enthusiasm if he didn't have the dough for bail, mayo I say? Now this rotten tomato is in a real pickle and won't be able to cut the mustard and that will certainly take the starch out of him. What a gluten for punishment.
