Thank you for posting that I'd been looking all over for the names.

I'm happy to report that our dear friend Homeward Bound who teaches at the school has PM'd me, and he is safe, though he did sadly lose one of his students.

As a Virginia resident with VT connections (which really, pretty much everyone in Virginia has since it is our state's largest school), I am dreading seeing a name I recognize on this list in the coming days.

All you can do is cry. These were kids that were killed. And a group of amazing dedicated adults. As a parent I can only begin to imagine the pain these parents and families are going through. My thoughts and prayers are definitely with all of them. My father-in-law speaks there every year and was there 2 weeks ago. I am so thankful he was safely home when this horrible event occurred.

Thank you to the OP for posting the names. We had it in our local newspaper too. Keep praying for these people...they will need our prayers and thoughts long after the media moves on to other news. This tragedy will not end for the families and friends affected.

The Jewish professor in the engineering department ... the minute I heard the story I couldn't stop crying. He blocked the door so the students could get out, was wounded but managed to email his wife before he died. Goodness, that is heroic.

My heart goes out to all who were victims of this terrible event, including those affected by the deep losses. All who were taken were beautiful souls and I pray for their peace and for those who are left behind's healing.

I remember my college days. You form "families" and when you lose someone, it hurts. It also hurts to feel your safety and security threatened.

Sending love to the VT family and community...You're in my thoughts and prayers!!

Send him all our best wishes and prayers and that we are thinking about all those involved.

Thanks for the update!
