Happy August all! Can't imagine what I would do without this invention!

Did you know that the microwave was invented after a researcher walked by a radar tube and a chocolate bar melted in his pocket?

August

Gemstone: Agate
Flower: Gladiolus
1st August is Lammas Day, and was Thanksgiving time (Harvest time) in Britain
The hottest days of the year often fall in August.
'Dry August and warm doth harvest no harm'.
'If the first week of August be warm, the winter will be white and long.'

In 1774, August 1ts, Joseph Priestley discovered oxygen in the
laboratory at Bowood House, Wiltshire, England
(what were we breathing before then?)

Couple notes; Today is my sisters birthday, happy birthday sis I love you

Second, can you imagine all of a sudden getting that warm wet feeling on your leg? A hundred different things would have rushed thru my mind before the radar and the candy bar that would have been one of my last choices in the thought process.
