...You right in your tracks? You are either scared, or mezmerized, or shocked? Maybe you saw a spider, or a big ol' dog, or remember something that may have happened at a beach with your special person, or maybe a train or a semi scares the heck outta you....
I was listening to a cd today and a song came on that just stops me every time I hear it, it brings pleasant memories of the band back a few years ago.
Every time I hear the intro, it just does something to me to stop me in my tracks. (Of course I love an acoustic guitar but this song just 'does it' for me!). Loved that song. Rather than going into details, its still one of my favourite songs and it still stops me, makes me smile, all the work and the times we did that song, the harmonizing, the smooth sound of that B-3 back there, its mezmerizing.
Its a Tesla song, called 'Love Will Find A Way'. Gets me every time.

Wetas, get them in my room all the time (when the spider man hasn't sprayed it) , the worst thing is, is that they JUMP, so when you goto kill them they usually just jump and evade capture.

I just can't stand them.

Not corny-beautiful.

For me and my Irish superstition a black cat will make me stop dead and turn around.

I think more about things that stop me dead in my tracks in a good way. Like you, Livewire, a lot of them are pieces of music. "How Lovely Is Thy Dwelling Place" from Brahms' German Requiem and "Morning Has Broken" by Cat Stevens are two of the pieces we played at my mom's memorial service, and no matter what I'm doing, if either starts playing on the radio or CD player, I'll stop to focus on the music and the memories. Beethoven's 4th Piano Concerto was one of the pieces we played at my dad's memorial service, and it has the same effect on me. And I had the fun of being part of the chorus for a performance of Mozart's Die Zauberflöte many years ago, and to this day, any piece from that opera will stop me in my tracks to enjoy it once again.

I'm usually stopped by negative things: lizards are my phobia, so if I see one, I'm sort of paralized, or become completely hysterical. I also stop if I hear Madonna's Holiday or INXS Original sin - not that I hate the songs, but bad memeories are associated to them.

Default Stops me on my tracks

-Public speaking or having to deal with masses or people in general. Spotlight shining on me--ugh, my hands are clammy thinking about it
