A med student died recently, spelunking in Nutty Putty cave in Utah.

The 6', 190lb. man got stuck with his head at an angle below his feet about 9pm Tuesday in an L-shaped area of the cave known as Bob's Push. The area is only 18"wide, 10" high.

He got caught upside down in this popular spelunking cave south of Salt Lake City. Took 28 hours to rescue him, too late!

It was the first fatality since cavers began exploring the 1500 foot cave's narrow passageways in the 1960's.

Why oh why! did I laugh so hard upon reading that in the newspaper this morning!

If only the name of the cave had been Rutty-Gutty or Wutty-Nutty or Futty-Dutty I wouldn't have laughed so hard! And let's hope they don't include the name of the cave in his obituary. No, no, no, no, no!

And even after reading he was expecting his first child next year, even that didn't stop the laughter.

OK! I'm sick, sick, sick! Am I the only to get a laugh out of this?

Imagine dying upside down and in a very confined place. Yes, I would think one would have to be nutty to go in a cave such as that.

I went in a local cave here years ago, kind of like that one and almost freaked out. I am no good in claustrophobic places.

He shouldn't have done that, especially when he was going to be a parent soon.

Some of these so-called thrillseekers aren't very good with their personal judgements on what is doable and what is not.

I wouldn't enter a cave anywhere in the SW or NW due to the possibility of an earthquake. They get shakers even up in Utah. Plus, I'm claustrophbic.
Imagine being in a cave in this area of the country and there's an earthquake
just as you've traversed 100 feet of the cave!
