BOGOTA, Colombia -- A Colombian woman declared dead of a heart attack moved one of her arms just as an undertaker was about to embalm her, doctors said Wednesday.

Noelia Serna, 45, was rushed to a hospital in the city of Cali, where she was in critical condition in an intensive care unit Wednesday, said hospital director Luis Fernando Rendon.

Way back in the days before embalming, a friend of mine's dad was at his aunts funeral at a church. Out of the blue, she 'woke up' and sat up, asking what was going on. Needless to say, at first the church vacated for a few moments till everyone calmed down and realized what happened.

My dad told me the embalming process, as it was in the 1950's, could cause muscle reactions. He sometimes cut hair for a funeral home, down the street from his barber shop, and would come home with stories of all kinds of movement by the dead.

Damn!! I am surprised the funeral director didn't faint LOL>>>> rigor mortis setting in most likely...

I remember my mom telling me stories how when she was sleeping at her Aunt's overnight....she could sleep at night because they actually had the FAMILY member LAID OUT in their homes! back in the 40-s or 50's!! I could not imagine. I wouldn't sleep either LOL

My grandmother used to say, it's not the dead that hurt you, it's the living that DO! Words of wisdom!!to live by BUT I still wouldnt' stay overnight lol

WiErD....seems like the coroner would have performed an autopsy before the funeral home took the body.
