I never used to like country music AT ALL (grew up listening to CHUM FM, Q-107 and 102.1 CFNY) but I did grow to appreciate *some* of it during a year living in Nashville, so I'm glad to see there are a few local country stations in Ottawa. Does anyone know if there are any western-style clubs here? I've always had a thing for girls in boots.

There aren't any full-blown C&W clubs in Ottawa, unfortunately... but there's the Rainbow Bistro on Murray St. in the Byward Market (live blues music, not a gay bar, despite the name). Irene's Pub on Bank Street has live music, including some very good bluegrass on some nights. It's a cozy pub. It's slightly north of the Lansdowne Place stadium.
If you ever want some bourbon, Fatboy's Smokehouse on Murray St. in the Market has that, plus a Southern-style menu.
Oh yes... and welcome to Ottawa.
