I can't tell you how many times I had a hard time trying to set the clock/radio that I have. I let Hubby set the alarm on his clock if we needed an alarm because I couldn't figure out how to set mine.

But yesterday, we got a package from Puerto Rico complete with the clock. I set it up next to bed-and it was SOOOO easy. I can actually see the time if I wake up in the middle of night. Yeah, a stupid cheapo clock makes me happy.

While we're at it about alarms, how about those on the Wrist-watches. My cousin's husband has a Wristwatch whose Alarm causes an actual electric shock at the designated time. Of course the electric shock is mild but enough to alert him. Does anyone here have that too?

I only have to use an alarm once in a blue sun (rarer than a blue moon). But, I do have a furry alarm clock who doesn't know what time it is. She likes to wake me up whenever she was attention.

Ode To Josette

Little Jo Peep won't let us sleep when she wants us to pet her.
She comes up at night, after we turn out the light
With her little "peep" and a purr.

She totally ignores us during the day.
But at night she has a lot to say.
"Pet me, Mommy. Pet me, Daddy.
Because I am NOT going to go away."

I lie on my belly when I hit the sack.
She walks up my legs, my butt and my back.

There on my back she will just stand.
After a few moments, "PEEP"
She will demand.

I reach around to give her a pet.
The first of her demands have been met.

She will give me a massage by marching in place.
Or she will comb my hair or put her paw on my face.

Her little "Peep" and purr are hard to hear.
Except when she puts her nose in my ear.

She pushes her nose under my arm.
She knows that will work like a charm.

She will head for my feet with one last "Peep."
Little Josette is ready for sleep.

But not to worry that is the end of the fun.
She will do it all over again before the night is done.

Great poem Cat!! Is that an original work?....

I had a female Tortoise Shell (Tortie) that was very petite but she would jump on the bed in the morning and head butt you in the small of the back if she wanted breakfast. She was as strong as a mini bulldozer, impossible to ignore and relentless until she got breakfast.

It would be great if one could train a cat to perform the kneading/acupuncture/massage to sore areas of the neck and back. A little to the left please, slightly lower/higher, etc...

Thanks-and yes, original work-inspired by Josette. She has done ALL of that-plus some. Josette would often find those pressure points on me. She is very heavy footed (or is that pawed?). When she walks away, I would say, "No, come back. You were hitting the right spot."

I used to have a Tortie-Brandy who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge almost 20 years ago. Yeah, I still miss her and all the others I have lost.

Since the two of you like tortoises, I hope you saw the previous video I posted of a Two-Headed Tortoise. Those 2-headed anomalies are especially fascinating because they are so rare. My understanding is that such Two-Headed anomalies are found at mostly State Fairs because they emphasize farming animals. So the Two-Headed ones are usually farming animals such as cows. Most of you folks must have attended State Fairs at one time or another, and might have seen such Anomalies.

Had a cat with 4 eyes and two sets of ears, and a misshapen head from almost having two heads.
Funny cat, when he slept, the extra set of eyes never shut and the eyeballs just rolled around all the time.

Tortoise shell (Torti) is a type of cat.

Here is my Brandy (on the boat named Big Dog). Not a great pic but it is the only one of her I have scanned into the computer (besides the one of her with a can on her head. lol) She was old at the time this pic was taken. She lived to be 18.

As for the two-headed tortoise. I did see that. It was pretty amazing-even though it is rare, it does happen. I have seen pics of them from time to time.

Don't you have a smartphone Cat?

I set my alarms on that.

I'm a proper night owl and so is all my family, so I have the hardest time waking up in the morning, but I'm the responsible one who makes sure everyone else in the household is up too, so I'm always first up, even though it's completely unnatural for me to do it.

I need to set at least 6 alarms to get me up.
One about half an hour before I'm due to get up.
Another 20 mins before, another 10 mins before, another for when I actually need to be up, another 10 mins after in case I slept through all of that and a final one about half an hour after in case I really did sleep in.

Our kids are all night owls.
I never had this business when they little getting up at 5am thank goodness.

However about 6 years ago I went on vacation with some girl friends and we were in a lovely spot and I had a hankering to watch the sunrise.
I realised that I'd been missing the sunrise all these years so now I make a pointed effort to get up and watch it every so often.
