Today there was an article in newsday about a teenager stealing clothes from a store. The reason for hte article was that the child and her mother were complaining about the police man. Seemingly she had put the stolen clothes on, then put her own clothes on over them. Then her and her friends went out into their black suv with tinted windows. The policeman came over to the car and asked her if she could take off the stolen clothes either in the suv or in the store.

I dont know what she did, but couldnt believe that this teenager and her mother were almost bragging about how she stole the clothes.

Whats wrong with this picture ; not one bit of shame, not one bit of remorse.

Link this to the thread regarding 'what's wrong with kids today'. That mother should be ashamed of herself.

Then they BOTH need to be charge for shoplifting and the mother should have to do the same penance as the offending child.

My kids were never perfect. As grown ups they still are not. (My grandkids are almost perfect though LOL)

A parent does his or her child a serious diservice when they do not face and recognize their own child's misbehaviour. This is enabling in it's worst form and it's crippling to the child's development of maturity and responsibility.

Thats the same kind of mom, that when her 14 year old daughter comes home pregnant, shell be so proud shell throw a party for her with all the neighbors invited. Some people just dont have a grip on reality.
