I am surprised also. I have always had good luck with Nike especially for my son, who is ridiculously hard on shoes. My oldest DD loves her Under-armor shoes and Skechers for my youngest boys. I second the suggestion of sending pics to Nike, it may have been a bad batch and unless people complain, they do not realize there is a problem.
After only 2 maybe 3 months my girls showed me holes in their Nikes. Two different styles but stitching just came out while it is obvious there is not much wear. These girls are not "Hard on shoes."
What other brands of shoes can I buy for under $50. My girls are 9.5 and 10 and still growing out of shoes about every 10 months or so. maybe less but a pair of shoes should last more than 3 months.
In our neck of the woods it's all about Converse. High tops and low tops. Tween sneaker choices are all about the region you live in. Every city/town has their preferred sneaker. NYC is Converse central for tween girls, but when I go elsewhere I don't see them as often.

They are popular down south too. My daughter has a favorite pair of Dr. Seuss Converse.

Midwest, too! My youngest has a pair of glittery silver ones, and my oldest wore paired black ones with her homecoming dress last fall. It was pretty cute
I also am having a problem with Nike shoes that I got for my kid maybe just a month ago. Her last shoes (prescription) lasted her about 8 months, and these ones are starting to have a problem after just a month? Granted, they get stretched in a funny way because of her orthotics, so that is putting extra wear on them, but I thought Nike's should be tougher. I went to at least 6 shoe stores searching for shoes she could wear with her orthotics and these were the only ones I could find that fit all the criteria - the tread doesn't come above the toe, they lace up and not velcro, and the back comes high enough up on the orthotic without being a high top shoe. I thought Sketchers were going to be perfect, but the backs on the regulars were too low and on the high tops were too high. I might have to go back to the $65 prescription shoes, ugh. Anyway, point is that we are having bad luck with Nike here too.
Of course I don't have the receipts or even the boxes and DH doesn't remember where he bought them Do you think if i took pictures and sent them to Nikes they would reimburse me?. They are such good shape there is no wear on the bottom. The holes are from busted stitches on the top. I think I will try that. I avoided buying them expensive Nikes till just recently cause they would outgrow shoes so frequently so I'm really ticked to have these fall apart.

I'll let you know what happens.
Imagine that
