I have, and they told me not to get them. SO.I.WILL.GET.SOMETHING.ELSE. Forget the Uggs, I am not getting her Uggs anymore. I am looking for other gift ideas like I stated in the last few posts.
Okay, so my seven year old cousin wants Uggs, but her parents are refusing to buy them for her birthday. I don't want to conflict with their parental vision, but I do have enough money to be able to afford them for her. What would the parents here suggest that I do?
How often does said cousin come to your place? If often enough buy them & she can wear them at your place.l I had the same problem with my nephew. Parents thought a bike would make him lazy & he would not learn to walk, I bought him a bike that he rides when he comes over here. So he walks over there & rides over here. Everyone is happy!

A child who has not yet learned walk is able to ride a bicycle?
Regardless, you don't overrule the decision of the parents. Period.

I would be unhappy if someone bought a gift that I refused to buy for my children. Ask the parent's permission first. Otherwise, they may never share details of their lives with you in the future. They might consider it meddling in their parenting. For whatever reason, these parents do not want their daughter to own UGGS. Respect that, and only buy them if they say it's okay.

SPEAK.TO.THE.PARENTS.
I am glad that you are not going against the wishes of the parent.
If someone bought one of my children something that I said told them NOT to buy, I would be far more than just "pissed off". That person may just be "cut off" from a future relationship with my child.
