Oh another story. once on test track the teenagers thought it would be funny to pop fake blood pellets on themselves to make it look like they had been injured by the ride. They stopped the ride halfway through for an hour, had an attendant walk all the way into the ride to our vehicle and escort us out, and closed the ride for the rest of the day.

I will admit electronics do detract from our usual pursuits in these situations, you know singing popular songs in Latin, or playing Binary Bingo, but we manage.

My parents certainly didn't bring books to amusement parks.

Learning to cope with boredom is a good thing. If you don't have that skill how are we going to survive when we're elderly and not able to do as much?
Erm, you're making a lot of assumptions in this post (pattern?), I'll leave it at that.

What I mean by "coping" with boredom is accepting it and not needing to find a way to end it. Make sense?

and this is your business how?
Not your child, not your concern and I'm sure those parents really don't care what you or anyone else thinks.

they don't care until their daughter has two broken teeth, a face soaked in blood and gashes, and is crying hysterically. "How could this ever happen!?" they ask the staff, while the EMT desperately tries to control the bleeding. Well, you were drinking beers, oblivious to your daughter's extremely dangerous behavior and her refusal to follow the pool rules, and this is the result.

LegoLand is selling beer and offering swimming to alleviate waiting times?

Legoland sells beer at the bar near one of the pools at water park attached to the main theme park. Please try again. I'm sure some kids have busted their skulls there as well, just ask the lifeguard on duty.
There is a water park attached to the theme park with a bar and wading pools. I am rolling in laughter that you were unaware that Legoland has a waterpark(and even funnier that you would think a major theme park doesn't sell beer). It was about 75% of their advertisement scheme when they were building the park on the former cypress gardens.

I was referring to activities to alleviate the boredom of waiting in line...which was the OP. If you have a rant about parents not supervising their children start a new thread as has been suggested. This one is about parents using electronics while waiting in line. No mention of ill behaved children.

Oh yes we always need a pool and a beer for the kids to get injured. I am a parent myself, you know. By the way Legoland does have runners that sell beverage in the line, so another false assumption
No need for a new thread, thanks for pseudomoderating though. It has everything to do with the OP and guess what happens to kids whose parents whose noses are glued to the phone? Their kids run off. Some have died.
