Interesting article. I didn't realize there could be a biological cause for kids to have an adversity to the taste of vegetables.

My pediatrician told us that once while dealing with our extremely picky eater. He said it's a biological defense mechanism to keep toddlers safe. You would think that it had been watered down since pioneer days, but anyway ...

I could never get tricks to work with my kids. Cut it into puzzle shapes, cook it into sauces, puree it into browner batter, put it on a big plate, a little plate, whatever. My kids would NOT eat veggies besides corn and maybe a carrot stick no matter what I tried.

Strangely my ultra picky 3 year old did eat carrots and potatoes that were cooked in the crock pot with the traditional corned beef Irish dinner tonight. Normally the only things he likes to eat are apple oatmeal (unfortunately no real apples!), noodles and gum. I'm not really sure how he is even growing and gaining weight but he is! Ugh. Just want him to EAT!!

I'm lucky, my kids have never been like that about vegetables. They'll even eat things like eggplant and brussel sprouts. My younger daughter wants to research every vegetable she eats.

Now, if there were some tricks for getting my husband to eat his veggies, that would be useful to me.

My oldest is autistic and this is a nightmare, fortunately I've been able to use that Deceptively Delicious book with success.
