My grandmother became a grandmother when she was 39 I believe. She had her first child (a son) at 19 in 1958, then he had a daughter in 1978 or sometime around then. My grandmother went on to have 5 more children - all girls - by age 28. 5 daughters, 1 son - who would have guessed?

Both my parents were 22 when I was born. Pretty typical for early 1960s. I am the oldest child.

My dad was 30, and my mom was 26. I'm the baby, though. They had my brother when my dad was 25 and my mom was 21! Things were different back in the late 50s and early 60s.

Dad was 24, mom was 22, nearly 23. Both far too young, and neither one ready.
