My LO has showed symptoms of teething.
-Fussiness (which isn't like him)
-Restlessness at nighttime (he usually passes right out)
-Excessive drooling and drool spots on chin.
-Gnawing on hands constantly
And so on..
So I check with his Ped since we were there to check and make sure his cold is gone and she said she thinks he is. I'm only doubtful because she is new and in "training".
Is this what the first sign of teething looks like? You can very clearly see white there but not anywhere else. Just checking though so I can prepare.
I mean, everything you state are classic teething signs but the age of the child kind of makes a difference in guessing. If it is teething then, as mentioned, chewing will be the best thing for him. Erupting teeth hurt and chewing or rubbing the gums feels good because it takes some of the pressure off. Mine liked to chew on a clean, partially frozen washcloth. I would wet it and throw it in the freezer for about 15 minutes. They really liked the cold and the cloth was easy to chew on.
He may get a small fever so don't be alarmed. And good luck.....teething lasts for several years and isn't always fun.

Several years? Maybe our definition of several is different. My kids had teething symptoms off and on for about a year but not for several years.
Mine sometimes even got a slight fever during teething.
Yes, I even remember those symptoms later showing up around 1st grade when they were losing baby teeth right and left. No one really warned me about that.

Erupting teeth happens all the way to the teenage years. Obviously the older they get the easier it is to define and treat (but still painful as my 12 year old would attest). But, as someone else mentioned, my children had teething issues well into toddler hood so it did last several years. Maybe you just got lucky.

My kids only "teethed" for a year, tops. After that it wasn't the same thing at all.
Sounds like teething. Frozen washcloths are nice, if baby can hold them. I would also put ice in baby feeders like this one when the baby could hold it. My kids tended to get teeth right around 5 weeks after the first sign of teething. They teethed early- getting their first two at 3 mo, 4 mo, and 2 mo and they all had the first 6 teeth by 6mo. After that, teething wasn't a big issue at all, although they continued to get the rest of their teeth. Since my kids started showing teething signs between 2 weeks and 10 weeks, it was a challenge right away. Nice to get it over with, though! Supposedly teething timeline follows one of the parents. My husband got his teeth very early, and so did our kids.
