How is his speech? My son was very delayed with walking and talking. He had therapy which helped, but it did not identify the problem. We did not find out until he was 12 that he had high functioning autism spectrum.
My older one walked at about 10 and a half months, almost to the day, in age, that I started to walk. He also looks like me, coincidentally.
My younger one started to walk at 17 months. Turns out he is on the high-functioning end of the autism spectrum. His gait, particularly on stairs (he is now 24 years old) is a bit awkward. Still, he was educated to the point of an Associates Degree at Landmark College.
That is interesting. Our daughter, who has been diagnosed with ADD and I suspect she is high functioning Autustic, began walking at 8.5 months. We were at a parenting class for 6-12 month olds and she was crawling at 8 months at the time of the class. One parent, whose child was 11 months asked why she was still crawling and not trying to stand. She smoked his kid and the others by walking at 8.5 months. She was also verbally precocious as she began speaking in complete sentences very early.
Kids, as I was told by a wise mom, all have their own timetables.
My nephew began walking at 16 months. It was a sign of a non-verbal learning disability which is on the autism spectrum.
Later walking is not generally associated with autism.

Most babies with autism and intellectual disability take their first steps — a major motor milestone — on time or earlier than those with other conditions that affect cognition
My son started walking at 10 months. I thought this was a little earlier than most but then my daughter started walking at 9 months. On the other hand, my niece didn't start walking until she was almost 2 years old. She had no physical limitations on why. Some kids just develop at their own pace.
A friend of mine her son didn't walk until almost 19 months. She was in a panic but there really is nothing you can do.
He's 11 years old now and made his middle school varsity basketball team.
I still say not being able to walk at 15 months is starting to get on the high end. I don't think it means a child will have problems. BY 18 months if a kid isnt walking I'd be worried.
My niece did not walk until she was about 18 months old. She was way ahead in small motor abilities. She could dress a Barbie properly and decorate a Potato Head perfectly. All toddlers are working on something. They all catch up to everything by the time they are three. She works on Wall Street now.
Might want to go to a podiatrist. I wasn't walking by my 2nd birthday. Parents took me to a podiatrist, who said being flat footed was my problem. Sent us to a place for special shoes. My mother said the shoe salesman put the new shoes on my feet and told me to run around and see how they do. Before she could tell him I wasn't walking yet, I was up and running all over the store.
By special shoes, I don't mean any of those with the leg braces on them. I guess it had to do with the insoles and soles of the shoes.
