WHITTIER — Police say they've visited the homes of octuplet mom Nadya Suleman on multiple occasions in the last 14 months to respond to complaints about lost, trapped or poorly cared for children.
Suleman gave birth to octuplets Jan. 26, and also has six other children, ages 2 to 7
Whittier Officer Jason Zulke says in July 2008 police and the Los Angeles County Department of Child and Family Services visited Suleman's home in response to a complaint that the children appeared poorly cared for.
Zuhlke says both agencies determined the complaint was unfounded.
Police also once visited the home to let a child out of a locked bedroom, and on another occasion Suleman called to report her 5-year-old daughter missing. The child had wandered off after her grandmother and was found safe.
if you ask me...she needs MORE child welfare visits and soon!!!!
Funny how they visit and visit but the kids hadn't been taken away? Was it because they found the kids to be safe after all?
I just don't understand. I don't think she comes close to being called the "mother of the year" but if there was a problem in the past, and welfare was called and they did nothing THEY ARE JUST AS MUCH TO BLAME. If they came and ruled everything "ok," then it's done!

Unfortunately, as long as the kids are physically safe, fed, etc. there's probably very little they can actually do.
Even if she is using her children to milk the system and mooch off the government/citizens, as long as the kids are safe, they probably won't be taken away.

Right. I think that they are/will be. She definitely IS a moocher!
You also have to wonder if she didn't come out in the press because she knew her pass and that even if we all didn't know her the hospital might be concerned. This way she has other people trying to help her and speak for her. In a way protect her verus a Mom who wouldn't have these things. LIke Dr. Phil.

This is what I worry about most...the lack of supervision. I think they WILL be fed, clothed, sheltered, etc. because of welfare and donations. They will also probably have TONS of luxuries they don't need. But there's no way they will ever all be properly supervised.
