But it does bring up a valid point. People feel sorry for momma who (for whatever reason) do not have custody of their children. To label them deadbeats is almost blasphemous. Surely, it's not the momma's "fault". The dad must be power hungry or controlling or used his vast amounts of money to pry these children from her loving arms. (there is sarcasm there BTW). Ohhhh and Heaven forbid the father to move on with another woman who steps up and behaves as a mother.... that woman is just trying to "steal" her child. After all this indignaty.... how DARE the father expect the mother to pay child support?!?!?!?!

I am unfortunate enough to have a relative who left her two young sons with their father (who did not take care of them) and went on her way. She met and married a man and had three more kids a few years later. She kicked him out last year and has another man living with her. The three younger kids live with her, but she is more involved with her relationship with this new guy and has no time for the kids. They go to their father who is now living a few blocks away (he got an apartment close by so he could be near his kids) when they need something or just need to be with a caring parent.
