I really hope this link works. The parents that irk me almost more than any other, are those that insist their children are perfect, do nothing wrong - ever! And this must be the best!!

Suing an Egyptian hotel because their 13 year old daughter got pregnant....................

I agree with Belinda; I wouldn't say naive, not necessarily. To give the parents the benefit of the doubt, perhaps they're just very uneducated. (yet another reason they need to teach the basics of sex ed in the schools...)

On the other hand, it is naive of the parents to say that there was no chance that the daughter encountered any men during their visit. One way or another she was obviously on her own at some point without her parent's knowledge.

I couldn't read the link, but I am inclined to believe that this is a cultural thing, not naivate or stupidity... This is a muslim nation. Premartial sex is a major no-no. Perhaps they believe it would be better to sue the hotel and look stupid than have the daughter stoned to death.

The family wasn't from Egypt. They were from Poland, I think. I don't know what cultural implications that has; other than nationality I don't know anything about the parents, so don't want to make a judgement about whether or not they really believe what they're claiming or not.
