My 4 year old boy gets car-sick very easily. Even when we are just going for a 45 minutes ride, he starts to complain that he is getting nauseaus and quite often he throws up.
Next weekend we are driving up to visit a family and it will be 3 1/2 to 4 hours car drive.
Is there anything I can do to prevent or help him with this? Are there any natural remedies against it? I mean, it's a long ride, so probably prior to it he will need to eat something otherwise he will get hungry DURING the ride.
Any ideas?
I would get car/motion sickness when I was pregnant. One thing that worked were the pressure point wrist bracelets sold at Walgreen's. You could tighten them I guess somehow if his wrists are too small. just an idea...
My youngest gets car sick a lot on long rides. It also depends on how fast I'm driving (highway or side street) and if he just ate. Also, I noticed that if he chews gum he almost always throws up. So we keep some large ziplocs in the car, just in case. After he once threw up all over the backseat, I've learned that those little babies can be a godsend.
